Welcome to the web-page of the Philippine Consulate General (Ad Honorem) in Armenia!

The Consulate General was established in 2004 and since then serves to develop and strengthen the relations between the Philippines and Armenia in a wide array of areas, including business, science, education, culture and people-to-people contacts.

We work to assist the steadily growing Filipino expat community in Armenia in their needs, as well as those in the Philippines interested in Armenia with providing local assistance and facilitation in the areas of their interest. On the other hand, we work closely with residents of Armenia in establishing or strengthening their links with the Philippines through representing and facilitating the best that the Philippines has to offer to Armenia.

Doing Business

The administration of President Benigno S. Aquino III aims to implement stable economic policies, substantially reduce red tape and level the playing field. It is of the belief that government is an enabler and not an impediment to business. The administration aims to make the business environment ever more predictable, reliable and efficient, thereby improving the country’s international competitiveness to attract more investments. Among the focus areas are entrepreneurship and infrastructure development. In particular, it is important to ensure ease of doing business and improve infrastructure through enhanced implementation of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Programs.

It is the President Aquino administration’s thrust during its six-year term to reach for high growth, providing equal opportunities to Filipinos and foreigners alike, with an annual average of 7 to 8% from 2011 to 2016. This means more jobs and new opportunities to improve employment and, in the process, reduce poverty incidence.

About the Philippines

The visitor to Metro Manila commonly sees the Philippines as the most westernized of Asian countries and in many ways, it is. But there is also a rich underlay of Malay culture beneath the patina of Spanish and American heritage. National cultural life is a happy marriage of many influences, as the indigenous Malay culture is assimilated and adapted to different strains in a practice typical of Malay temperament.

The Philippines is an archipelago of 7,107 islands. It stretches from the south of China to the northern tip of Borneo. The country has over a hundred ethnic groups and a mixture of foreign influences which have molded a unique Filipino culture.

Government Data and Information

As one of the eight founding states of the Open Government Partnership, the Philippine government is committed to open governance through initiatives such as making national government data searchable, accessible, and useful, with the help of the different agencies of government, and with the participation of the public.

Data.gov.ph website consolidates the datasets of different government agencies, allowing users to find specific information from a rich and continuously growing collection of public datasets.

It provides information on how to access these datasets and tools, such as infographics and other applications, to make the information easy to understand. Users may not only view the datasets, but also share and download them as spreadsheets and other formats, for their own use.

Consulate

The Philippine Consulate General (ad honorem) in Armenia was established in 2009 in recognition of the importance of Armenia for the Philippines, and for the development and strengthening of the Philippine-Armenian relations, as regards to business, trade, science, education and cultural exchange. The growing Filipino expatriate community in Armenia and the increasing number of Armenians taking an interest in the Philippines just highlight the increasing role of the Consulate General (ad honorem) for the need to provide service and assistance .

Mr Albert Taroyan is the Consul General (ad honorem) of the Republic of the Philippines in the Republic of Armenia, and serves in this capacity since 1 June 2009, the day the Consulate was established.
